When will Service Tax on Credit Card be imposed?

I have been googling around to find the exact date when the service tax on credit cards will take effect? However, there seems to be unclear information from the government til now.

Have called the banks to ask, their answer is to wait. no need to cancel your card yet.
But how long to wait? cancellation doesnt take effect immediately..so when want to cancel also must strategise properly.

This is agonising! RM50 per card is unnecessary money to waste. That can pay 30 days of my breakfast every morning.

The only good thing is MBF have announced that they will cover the RM50 service tax. So if you want to save some cash, can apply MBF cards. Not only that, they have even came up with the 0% power balance transfer offer, as long as you spend minimum RM300 per month.
So if you've got to pay telco/utilities bills /petrol..then RM300 can easily be met.
Heck...if can delay payment & invest your cash instead..why not right?

How can I earn minimum USD2000 per month?

I had been calculating, if I were to quit and do online business full time, how much would I need to survive at a minimum?

Looking at my commitment level and past expenses.. I believe I would need at least stable income of USD2,000 per month.

Attended MMI and Global Internet Summit in June

June was a busy month for me.

I attended Millionaire Mind Intensive on 12-14 June.

Certainly a mind blowing experience...though it was rather annoying with the frequent high-fives and dances.

the 90-day wearlth conditioning book and the CDs were worth it though.

kept the fire going in me post MMI.

Then on 19-21 June, attended Global Internet Summit.

SMART seminar 2008 - day 2 review

Its just past Day 2 of the Malaysia SMART seminar 2008 .

Honestly, feeling kinda tired of being marketed at.
Although I had gone to this event knowing that there would be offers after each speaker speaks..yet..its just way too much!

The day started with presentation by Donna Fox on marketing to women. Then offers for participants as usual.
Next up was Simon Leung, talking on the secrets he learnt from google, since he worked for google last time..
Then, a very tempting offer was made.

Lunch break, we went to a Thai restaurant at the Lower ground level of Midvalley.
I didn't bother trying to network with the speakers.
Was just talking to the participants seating near me.
(I was already feeling that its kinda wasted that I paid RM699 , coz even though upgraded as Platinum member meaning lunches with speakers... but I wasn't in the mood to network anymore. Was just so tired of being marketed at).

Imagine how would your day be like meeting insurance agent, MLM people, unit trust people, toys salesmen, all within a span of 8 hours... wont you just get tired of all the sales talk? especially since I am not in the shopping / buying mood, and don't wanna fork out more money.

After lunch, it was a talk by Mark on product creation...and more offers.













Last for the day was Lee and Robins, talking about hybrid marketing.
and the most expensive offer to date.

The funny thing was that, when I was walking out of the hall after the day ends, some of the participants were actually quite turned off with the joking and fooling around style of Lee and Robin.
Apparently the uncles are pissed that they don't seem professional and serious in their presentation.
As for me..I had no feeling already by then... I was just so hungry and looking forward to leave.



Then went out for mamak session with some of the SMART seminar participants.
Had a good time getting to know the people and so now I've found a new group for discussions and masterminding.

Trow is last day of SMART Seminar 2008...we'll see how it goes..

how to have business success in recession times?

I almost missed Patric Chan's teleseminar this morning.
Only came on board at the last 15 minutes.

Of course as a super marketer like him, there will always be some promotion..
but in that 15 minutes, I got some tips which I managed to summarise.

In recession times:
* learn new things to improve yourself
* choose market not affected by recession
* sell ads space on your blog / website
* focus on creating passive income sites, e.g membership sites

simple tips.. but if followed and done, can bring us all lots of returns.

Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars at my offices in Malaysia , Indonesia , Thailand and Suzhou ( China ). I am in the airport almost every other week so I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars> or have read my books.

Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, 'How come a millionaire like you is travelling economy?' My reply was, 'That's why I am a millionaire.' He still looked pretty confused. This again confirms that greatest lie ever told about wealth (which I wrote about in my latest book 'Secrets of Self Made Millionaires').

Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because the moment that earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one.

The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on> what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster. Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. to support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky).

I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice.

When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur's Organization) a few years back (YEO is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business) I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worths well over $5m, travelled economy class and some even drove Toyota 's and Nissans (not Audis, Mercs, BMWs). I noticed that it was only those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers' and tycoons' sons in the club) who spent like there was no tomorrow. Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family's wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation. Thank God my rich dad (oh no! I sound like Kiyosaki) foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business..

Then some people ask me, 'What is the point in making so much money if you don't enjoy it?' The thing is that I don't really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last.

Material happiness never lasts, it just give you a quick fix. After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing which you think will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life.

Instead, what make ME happy is when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast. What makes me happy is when I see by companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries. What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone's life. What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this BLOG is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much much more than what a Rolex would do for me.

I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life's work (be in teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product. If you hate what you are doing and rely on the money you earn to make you happy by buying stuff, then I think that you are living a life of meaningless.

I havent logged in to my clickbank account for weeks..

coz its depressing to log in and see no sales whatsoever.

People often ask me ...

"How can I get rich?"
Well ... let me tell you how I did it.
1) I learned very early in life that the ONLY way to make money was to "sell" something ... either a product or a service ... something people wanted or needed - or - do something for them they couldn't, or wouldn't, do for themselves.
2) I learned to "make do" with what I had, until I could get what I needed to do a better job.
3) I learned that I had to do anything necessary (but legal) to get to where I wanted to be, even if I didn't like doing it (especially if I didn't like doing it). -- You can do ANYTHING you need to do ... until you can do what you want to do.
4) I learned to never ask anyone to do anything for me that I wasn't willing to do myself - and - everyone who has ever worked with me has taught me about what they have done for me and how they did it. After a while, I could do it, too - but - maybe not as well as they did.
5) I learned to "pay" for what I wanted. If I couldn't afford it, I saved-up to be able to afford it. (Sometimes if seemed like forever.)
6) I learned that no matter how long it took to achieve my goal (whatever it was), it would have been just as long if I hadn't persisted, but I would have accomplished nothing.
7) I learned that NOTHING is as easy or as fast as it should be. It only gets easier and faster when you know how to really do it - and - learning how to really do it is just a matter of doing it over, and over, and over, until you finally find out how it works. Of course, if you give up after the first (second, third, or fourth) try, you'll never do it.
8) I learned most of what I know from my mistakes and failures. My successes never taught me anything ... they were only based upon what I had learned from my mistakes and failures. (That's why those who are afraid to make mistakes, or fail, never achieve the success they desire.)
9) I learned that my most prized possessions were my customers. People who, directly or indirectly, paid for my lunch every day. (That's why, unlike my contemporaries, I reply to my customers emails personally.)
10) I learned that "money" is NOT an end unto itself ... it is only a way of keeping score. (The saddest people in the world are those who are forever chasing the almighty dollar - and - the vast majority of them have no real respect for money.) 11) I learned to ASK for what I wanted or needed - and - to graciously accept a "NO" as readily as a "YES."
YES ... you can get rich - but - you'll have to do it yourself.No one will do it for you!
I get tickled by people who want to start at the top of the ladder. -- For some unknown reason, they honestly believe they are better than I am, since I had to start on the bottom rung and climb up one rung at a time.
When I mention the above, I often hear ... "Yeah. I could do that - but - it will take too much time. I need money now - and - I don't want to just make a little money, I want to get rich."
Sorry, you'll have to start where I started. -- Do what you need to do to make a little money. Then, do more and more of it to make more and more money. As you make more and more money, the greater the opportunities you will have to make even more money. -- Nothing succeeds like success ... even small success.
The more things you don't want to do, the fewer and fewer things you will do ... until you are doing as most people do ... NOTHING but dreaming!
